OPEN A PROFESSIONAL BANK ACCOUNT FOR YOUR COMPANY IN LUXEMBOURG

Are you an entrepreneur or freelancer in Luxembourg and you are unable to open a current account for your activity?
You are not the only person this is happening to!
Unfortunately, there is no right to a professional bank account in Luxembourg. Banks are private companies and they have every right to refuse customers without giving any explanation.
This site is therefore aimed at entrepreneurs who create a commercial activity through a capital company (eg Sàrl, Sàrl-S etc.) or in their own name ("freelance") and who need an account. banking professional to separate their private money from their professional money .
Good preparation will increase your chances of getting a favorable response. A dossier for opening a business bank account should typically include the following documents:

Each banking institution has its own relationship entry forms . In general, the bank provides you with the following forms:

Account opening application form including the choice of the offer

ATTENTION: a complete file does not automatically mean that you receive an agreement to open an account.

It is NOT the desk staff who decides whether you are granted an account, but a separate committee who have never met you.

Your banking history can play a role: if a bank finds that you have a lot of debt or that you never pay your bills on time, it gives a bad image of the ability to manage money.
